Groceries day!!
Christmas is coming :) It's our first christmas together actually.
We're so thrilled to spend our xmas together in the house. We planned to have spicy roast chicken, coconut rice (aka nasi uduk), fried tofu, indonesian salad (lalapan), indonesian chili sause (sambel bajak) ,shrimp chips (halah.. bahasa kampungnya kerupuk udang), 12 inch 2 layer choco cakes and beers.
So.. to make things right on xmas eve, we had a try out today.
First, get everything we need on carefour.
I though the roast spicy chicken costs 13.90 rmb / 500 gram. So I wonder how much it will cost for the whole chicken. And it turns out that 13.90 rmb is the cost for a whole chicken!! Superbly cheap! There are spicy flavor, onion, garlic, honey grilled and black pepper. If only I knew that the chicken is so cheap I would have them each week!
Second, the nasi uduk is a huge success! Lucky we got the recipe on internet and we have everything here like daun salam, serai (don't know what the english hehe) and coconut milk.
It feels like a little buffet party in the house today :)
Things on the dining table right now:
- nasi uduk
- sambel + lalapan
- roast spicy chicken
- onde2 read bean. (so chewy and good! .. what an oily dessert)
- egg chiffon cake (remind me on my childhood fave cake)
- Danish pastry cheese sandwich
- beers
Thanks Lord that there are always lots of foods on the table to feed us everyday!
